Venturing Crew 1853 – Springfield, VA

Thanks so much Kirk and Leslie for all your efforts in making this sailing adventure a reality for Venture Crew 1853 once again. We enjoyed each and everyone of them and can only hope that we will sail together again sometime soon. A very heartfelt thank you to the whole wonderful crew!!!!

These guys and gals came together as a really “slick” sailing crew. We even tacked our way through Marsh Harbour under full sail to our anchor spot. The spanker crew had to backwind port and starboard to back the boat up under sail to position us right where the Captain wanted to set the anchor. So impressive and we are so proud!

Hunter caught a nice sized mutton snapper which TDK cleaned, seasoned, and grilled for us. It was absolutely delicious!! We had that along with our conch spaghetti dinner. Oh and Honey Buns for dessert. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Last spectacular snorkel of the week was on Fowle Cay. So fun ~

Thank you to our Crew Chief, Charlotte, who was on board 3 years ago. Here she is showing the “history” of her old hat and now her new Ciganka hat. Her old hat is complete with 2 bullet holes because she let it be used for target practice. Thanks for all your leadership throughout the week Charlotte! We hope we will get you on board again for “round 3”!

Congratulations Josh, our “Conch Award of Excellence” recipient. No matter what Josh was doing he was giving it is all – all the time!! It was awesome having you on board Josh!
