The Wayfaring Band on Ciganka in the Bahamas
We had the incredible pleasure of having “The Wayfaring Band” from Colorado on board for the week. This is how they describe themselves – “We are a wayfaring band, which means we are a band of people who travel together. Our programs serve adults who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as neurotypical leadership fellows. Most of our participants are young adults, and our style of travel appeals to wayfarers with a youthful spirit.
Each crew member was amazing and inspiring in so many way. They kicked it into gear the whole week! The weather threw us a curve ball with little to no wind what so ever. But we made up for that with going to places that we cannot go to when it is windy such as the ocean side of Baker’s Bay on the north end of Guana Cay. They had an opportunity to have the most beautiful beach in all of the Abacos to themselves and a spectacular ocean reef dive that several of them saw a 6 ft. shark and lots of other cool stuff! We got a lot of snorkeling and swimming in, ate like kings and queens, steered the boat from place to place and laughed a lot! It was like one big happy loving family on the adventure of a life time!
