No Internet – but having an absolute blast!!

Building of Ciganka / ciganka

Sorry I have not posted pictures but we have not had any Internet.  This simple post may take me an hour to get out.  Rest assured the whole crew is having an absolute blast.  We celebrated Cody’s birthday yesterday with candles on our brownies.  I hope tomorrow we will be anchored where there is a decent Internet connection.

The Crew from Baldwinsville, NY arrived right on time.  We got in their first snorkel and then some beaching and Frisbee playing.  Had a scrumptious and filling dinner of pot roast, gravy, potatoes and chocolate cake!  Now as the evening is starting to wind down (sort of) we have bongo drums playing on deck, a

Final touches

1 Comment / Building of Ciganka / ciganka

This weekend we are sitting in the travel lift slings so we can paint the places that the boat stands have been holding us up while on land.  And we moved the wood slabs that Ciganka’s keel has been sitting on so Thomas can grind the steel in those places and put on 3 coats

Boatyard Progress

3 Comments / Building of Ciganka / ciganka

Ciganka’s hull is completely sanded, cleaned and starboard side is painted.  We had to rig up tarps to keep the sun off the port side.  Because the steel hull is cold in the morning and the air is warm, the hull sweats….condensation.  So we cannot start painting until the hull is dry which is usually

Light winds, war ships, and feeling welcomed!

Building of Ciganka / ciganka

As the forecast predicted, we had light winds on our ocean crossing from the Abacos to Beaufort, NC. So we enjoyed the 5 day journey under full sail and calm seas arriving in Beaufort yesterday morning, Saturday, at 11:00. BUT we found out we cannot clear in with Customs and Immigration until Monday morning. So we
